Rosie Gibbs was born June 14, 1921, to Jabo Cross and Lee Anna Polk in the state of Tennessee.

On July 28, 2016, Rosie departed her earthly home. Her husband, the late J.B. Gibbs; two sons, Leo Gibbs and Leon (Pete) Gibbs; and her parents, Jabo Cross
and Lee Anna Polk, all preceded her in death. Rosie confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Antioch MB Church; later in life, she joined the
Johnson Chapel CME Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She was a member of the Usher Board; she served on the Stewardess Board, and was a member of the Golden Grain Good Shepard Lodge #52. She was also a part of the Missionary.

Rosie was employed for ten years at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar, Tennessee.

Those who will cherish (Momma) Rosie’s memories are her loving daughters – Hattie (J.C.) Harvey, Pearlean Green, Mary McKinnie all of Whiteville, TN; Peggy Woods of St. Louis, MO; Sharon Gibbs of Bolivar, TN; and Betty Herron, Whiteville, TN, who was like a daughter. Her sons – A.C. Gibbs of Bolivar, TN; J.C. (Chris) Gibbs, Nathan (Peggy) Gibbs both of Whiteville, TN; and Eugene Robertson, Cleveland, OH, who was like a son. Beatrice Pugh of Memphis, TN, who was like a sister. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, greatgreat-great grandchildren and a host of friends that loved her dearly.
