Joseph R. Hardaway was born September 23, 1948 to the late Mr. L. Willie and Rachel V. Hardaway. He departed his life on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Jackson General Hospital. Joseph confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Salem M. B. Church of Hickory Valley, TN. He was a faithful member of the Male Chorus, until his health failed him.

Joe, as many called him, was employed at Sequentia Inc., Glass Steel, Johnny Johnson Motors, Harman Automotive, and later retired from Devilbiss Air Power.

Joseph was united in Holy matrimony to Lorine Humphrey on September 2, 1969 and to this union three children were born.

Joseph preceded in death by his son: Mr. Timothy Moore; his parents; his grandparents; one brother: Mr. Jimmy D. Hardaway; and one sister: Ms. Estella Hardaway Stewart.

Joe leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mrs. Lorine Hardaway; two beautiful daughters: Mrs. Glenda (David) Valentine of Bolivar, TN; Ms. Taquitia Hardaway of Hickory Valley, TN; two grandchildren: David Valentine, Jr., Kelvon Steward; one great grandchild: David Valentine III; eight sisters: Pauline Prewitt, Emma (Bill) Perry, Joella (Gilbert) Woody, Bernice (Patrick) Lofties all of Hickory Valley, TN, Rosie (Larry) Cross, Sarah (Rodney) Jones, Darlene (U.L.) Cross all of Bolivar, TN, Mary (James) Minter of Pension, TN; four brothers: James (Darlene) Hardaway, Walter (VLandy) Hardaway, Martin (Mary) Hardaway, Willie (Betty) Hardaway, Jr. all of Hickory Valley, TN; one sister-in-law: Ms. Barbara Humphrey of Memphis, TN; two brothersin-law: Mr. Jerome Humphrey and Mr. Larry Humphrey all of Memphis, TN; He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He also leaves behind a remarkable caregiver: Mrs. Lillie Traylor.
