Ms. Helen Louise Brasher was born on May 5, 1934 in Bath Springs, TN, to the union of Barley and Alberta Brasher. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Westwood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Decaturville, TN.

Helen accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour at an early age and united with Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bath Springs, TN. Helen loved to eat and travel, “I’m happy with Jesus Alone” was her
favorite quote.

Helen was educated in the Decatur County Training School and Crowder High School. After Helen graduated from high school,
she moved to live with a dear cousin, Mable Harris in Kansas City, KS. Helen attended nursing school in Kansas City, KS and obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma. Helen moved her Christian membership to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS under the pastoralship of the Rev. Dr. C.L. Bachus. Helen was employed at Menorah Hospital and moved back home to Bath Springs, TN. Helen didn’t have any biological children but she had several children that she treated as her own.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents, Barley and Alberta Brasher, siblings: Anna Brasher, Jessie Lee Walker (William), Willie Mae Walker (Leroy), Ocie Harold Brasher, Joe Arthur Brasher, Rosie Lee Johnson, and Linda Doris Tinsley Lowery, nephews: Willie T. Casey, Roy Lynn Walker, Randal Johnson, and James Lee Walker, nieces: LaMyron Vychelle Brasher, Karen Denise Brasher, and Lucille Brasher, great nephew Kenny Walker and Trane Johnson, great great niece, Ashanti Nikole Harris.
Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her siblings: JoAnn Massengil (John), Booker F. Brasher (Ronnie), and Hazel Mae Tole (David), a special nephew J.C. Brasher and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
