Alberta Beatrice Lowery Atkins was born January 5, 1934 to the late Porter Lowery and Idella Lowery Atkins. She was known to many as “Birdie.”
She was a member of the Forest Hills Church of Christ, where she attended until her health failed.
Alberta attended McNairy County Schools and received her GED. She was employed at Aqua Glass in Adamsville, TN for 18 years.
She was married to G.W Atkins from this union was 10 children.
On December 19,2016, she said good-bye to this old world. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Nora Lee Harris; her mother: Idella Johnson Atkins and step-father: Elmer Atkins, a brother: Oneal Atkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories 6 sons and 3 daughters — George Atkins. Sidney Atkins, Gilbert Atkins, Timmie Atkins, Clarence Atkins (Maudena), Marcus Atkins (Geraldine) Barbara Robinson, Deborah Faye Taylor (Godfrey), Elizabeth Atkins, one sister: Carolyn Atkins; her granddaughters: she raised Yulando Davis (Andrea), and Cleisha Tedunjaye (Michael) as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and other family and friends.
