A.C. Gibbs was born April 8, 1939, to the late J.B. and Rosie Gibbs in the state of Tennessee. On the 2nd day of January 2017, A.C. departed this earthly home.

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, J.B. and Rosie Gibbs; his son, Kenneth Gibbs; and two brothers, Leo Gibbs and Leon Gibbs.

A.C. was united in matrimony to Louise Cross Gibbs and to this union a son, Kenneth, was born. After time progressed, A.C. married Faye Gibbs, and as the season of time changed, he later married Darlene Gibbs.

A.C. had a very special friend that he loved dearly (Vickie Brown) and two children that he loved and raised as his own (Anthony Travis Brown of Minnesota and LaShawn Brown-Bradley of Lake Wood, Ohio).

A.C. confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and joined Johnson Chapel CME Church, where he attended until he relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where he joined and attended Mars Hill Baptist Church.

A.C. was employed with Ford Motors for 40 years. He was also known for his talent of playing the harmonica and received the nickname Mr. Blues. He was also known for his bowling skills and traveled to many cities with his bowling league, where they won numerous tournaments.

Those who will cherish A.C.’s memories are his siblings – Hattie (J.C.) Harvey, Pearlean Green, Mary McKinnie all of Whiteville, TN; Peggy Woods of St. Louis, MO; Sharon Gibbs of Bolivar, TN; J.C. (Christine) Gibbs, Nathan (Peggy) Gibbs both of Whiteville, TN; Betty Wilkes Herron loved like a sister; and Eugene Robertson, who was like a brother; two grandchildren, Nickie and Latoya Gibbs; two children he raised as his own, Anthony Travis Brown and LaShawn Brown- Bradley. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends that loved him dearly. Three very special best friends, Joe Jackson, Jim Rogers and Vickie Brown. God by the glory.
